Appearance: Hickory wood is heavy, dense and straight-grained with a medium-brown, reddish hue highlighted with yellow or gold. The rough bark on hickory trees give it a shaggy appearance.
Ignition: Easy to light. Produces fires that are hot and long-lasting.
Burn & Heat: Burns clean, hot flame. Exceptional heat output. On average, hickory firewood burns at 28.5 million BTUs per stack. Outperforms nearly all other types of firewood.
Brightness: Produces a bright, captivating flame that is sure to illuminate any room with warmth and elegance.
Aroma: Savory, sweet, classic and bold without being too overbearing. Preferred firewood for cooking and flavoring meats. Fun fact: liquid smoke flavoring is actually modeled from the scent of hickory firewood.
Emissions: Low amount of emissions. No worries about it giving off any harmful emissions that could cause sickness.
Smoke: Low smoke output, because it’s kiln-dried to contain very low (under 20%) moisture.
Coals: Long-lasting, which will extend the burn and heat. Great “overnighter” fuel. Coals capable of burning hot through the night.
Insects: No insects because our hickory firewood is kiln-dried.
